My dream house is just like Barbie’s it’s made of pink walls with a white staircase.
My bedroom is huge with a walk in wardrobe full of fancy clothes.
My massive kitchen is stocked with all the sushi, chips and diet coke I could ever want.
I even have a mini bar full of raspberry and pineapple cruisers!
In my backyard, theres a waterfall that flows into the sparkly pool.
The grass is green and fake, so I never have to mow the lawn. There’s mermaids in the spa and dolphins in the pool.
There’s a cave under the waterfall for kissing boys!
There’s also a stable for my ponies, all the latest tech and a pink Ferrari in the driveway.
I drive it slow with the roof down, my hair blowing in the wind!

Reminders
My name is Deanna.
I like to look my best.
Every morning I get out of bed do my hair and make up.
Bangles are my favourite jewellery to wear.
I wear at least 15 bangles, 5 rings, 2 necklaces and a brooch at all times.
Jewellery makes me feel happy and pretty.
I can’t wear my earrings anymore because they were so heavy when I pulled them out one day I put a split in my ear.
It didn’t hurt, sometimes I laugh about that but I do miss my earrings.
Every piece of jewellery I wear is an expression of who I am – from my dolphin ring, which is my favourite animal, to my much loved and slightly beaten up bangle that I have worn everyday for, I don’t even remember how many years.
It was a gift from my dear friend Max who is now in heaven.
Most of my pieces of jewellery have been gifted to me.
When I wear them it is my way of always keeping the people who I care about with me.
One of the pieces that makes me the happiest is my bracelet that says;
“Always believe something beautiful is about to happen”
I love beautiful things and all my beautiful little pieces of jewellery are reminders of the big beautiful life I live.

Disco Ball
I’ve been to a nightclub once in my life but once is just not enough!
I want to do it all again.
The last time I went to a nightclub, my brother helped me sneak out.
Sorry mum.
I love to hear the crowds cheering and singing at the top of their lungs.
I used to sing out loud in my bedroom.
My mum used to have to turn on her music to drown me out!
But in a nightclub I can sing as loud as I want.
The music in the nightclub is so loud you can feel the beat.
We all get taken along for the ride as it builds into the beat drop and the dance floor explodes with energy.
Although you are in a room full of people the best part of dancing in a nightclub is I can go into my own little world where I don’t care what anyone thinks.
I get to just dance for me.
I get to dance for joy and what makes me feel good.
You know what? Maybe I could even become a bartender in a club one day.
Then I’d get to hang out at nightclubs every single weekend.
I could do all the cool tricks you see in the movie where they throw the mixers up in the air.
I could befriend the DJ and hang out behind the mixing desk and convince them to play all my favourite songs, like Rock Lobster. That would really get the party started.
I’m like a disco ball.
I light up the room and I’m the sparkliest thing at the party.

Sunsets
Sunset walks are important to me because they get me outside.
Every day my Mum and I go before dinner and make sure we get to the beach in time.
We walk along the sand.
We have girl chats.
We talk about my future.
We discuss how I can make my own way.
We talk about handling money, travelling on public transport.
We talk about the difficult things too.
Like what happens to me when they go
and what do I want in life?
I don’t have all the answers but what I do know is this…
I am considering moving into a share house.
My mum is the best cook.
She doesn’t follow a recipe, she does it by heart.
We are working on the transition to move out of home.
I hope I can move in to a place where I get to make new friends. Friends who share my love of singing and will have karaoke parties with me.
Friends who I can relax with while we do diamond dots and maybe they will love sunset walks as much as I do.
Our sunset chats bring up a lot of mixed feelings but every time gets a little bit easier.
Just before the sun sets, we take photos and selfies.
It’s pretty special because I adore my Mum!
Then we go home to my handsome and loving Dad who we are both very lucky to have.
Sunsets are magical, the way the sky changes colour and the sun disappears into the ocean.
No matter what, I know there will always be a sunset.
Sometimes they may be different but I know they will always be beautiful.
